Have I mentioned that I have been dreaming of fall for weeks now?! A pumpkin spice latte, a big cozy scarf, a pair of tall riding boots, and an over sized sweater. That sounds like pure bliss! Now I know here in San Diego it won't cool down until the end of October if we are lucky, but it can never be too early to prepare. Also, the stores aren't really giving us a choice, seeing that anything and everything that has to do with summer is already on clearance and rolling in all the fall option. I am not complaining since fall/winter fashion is my favorite, I love the idea of layering. I love the idea that you can have a few key pieces and mix them in different ways to totally change the look of your outfit. Over the next couple weeks I'll be sharing items that I find to make the transition a little easier on you and your wallet!!
When I think of colors I want to wear in fall, I think black, neutrals, and of course rich jewel tones. When I was shopping online at Impressions, this blouse immediately caught my eye! I love the way it flows and the fun cut out shoulder detail. Since it is going to be so hot as we make this transition into fall, I like to have options that are still weather appropriate and of course look cute at the same time. I chose to pair it with my light colored Old Navy jeans that I have worn to death this summer. This was my first pair of denim from Old Navy and I was seriously blown away by how much I LOVE them!! They are so soft, like buttery soft, which makes them feel extremely high end. But I only paid $19, winning!! One of my favorite pieces that makes transitioning into fall easier is booties. They are perfect to pair with your summer dresses, skirts and of course jeans. I'm in love with the laser cut detail on this pair. The color is also perfect and will go with everything.
Can we take a moment to take in how down right gorgeous this turquoise necklace is?! I know you're used to seeing really "blingy" pieces around me neck, but this piece simply stole the spotlight! Something about the necklace seems so unique and different. I love that it gave this look a little more laid back look, while still being chic. It's safe to say that this necklace might have started a full blown turquoise obsession!! Whatever you do you have to pop on over to House Of Dazzle and check out all the beautiful pieces they have to offer! I'm dying for this one & these. Eeek, let's just say I want them all!!
A little off topic, my sweet boyfriend nominated me for the #alsicebucketchallenge. He totally didn't think I would actually do it, but I proved him wrong. You can watch the video {here}. I nominated Ashley, Mary-Katherine and Kate if they want to participate. I have to be honest and tell you I almost didn't do the challenge. I just felt like people were doing to do it because it was cool. Then I watched this video and everything changed. I love how much awareness these videos are bringing to a worthy cause!! If only we could always be this excited about donating :)
Wow, that was a really long post!! I hope everyone has the BEST Friday!!
XOXO, Kayla
