.Baby Pink.

Dress, Ginger via TJ Maxx // Blazer, Target (sold out) Loving The Spring Version // Flats, Tory Burch // Tights, Target // Polka Dot Bow, Shop Ban.do via Anthro //Necklace, Jcrew (old) // Bracelets, Jcrew (old) Similar & Forever 21// Sunnies, Anthro (not online) Very Similar

It's no secret that I have been crushing hard on the color pink. I don't know if it's because of Valentine's day or my taste is changing, but I truly can't get enough. When I came across this baby pink drop waist dress, I knew I had to have it. As soon as I tried it on, I pictured it with black tights and blazer. Staying true to my style, I had to add polka dots and a giant bow in the mix. I truly had no idea how much I was going to love the baby pink against the black accents! It feels like the perfect combination to transition into spring!

.Scalloped.

Blouse, Kensie via Macy's (not online but on MEGA sale in stores!) // Skirt, Gap (sold out) Similar Style // Heels, Shoemint // Necklace, Shoplately // Bracelets, Jcrew & Forever 21 // Midi Ring, Forever 21 (not online) Love This One // Watch, Kate Spade // Sunnies, Ray-Ban // Nails, Essie 'Go Ginza'

Happy Monday!! I hope everyone enjoyed their holiday weekend. I know we did! Tyler surprised me on Friday night when I came home with a delicious home cooked meal and wine we had been saving for a special occasion. The celebration continued all weekend long! I'm actually indulging in some heart shaped ice cream cake as I type this :)

This outfit makes me so happy for a couple different reasons. One, I made the decision a couple years ago to incoroprate more color into my wardrobe. If I'm not wearing polka dots, stripes, or leopard, I  always gravitate towards black. This is way out of more color comfort zone and I love it! Second, I've been wanting this shirt, from Kensie, for sometime now, but told myself to wait until it went on sale. This past Saturday when I was walking through Macy's it caught my eye from the sale rack!! It was marked down and an additional 30% off!! I can't get enough of the scalloped trim. I love the delicate feel it gives the outfit. Lastly, this outfit totally reminds me of spring! The only thing missing is a tan! Guess I should start working on that soon :)

.Happy Valentine's Day.

Dress, Fashion Exchange // Shoes, Aldo // Necklace, The Limited (Sold Out) Love This One & Jcrew // Bracelets, Mindy Mae's Market  c/o & Jcrew // Watch, Kate Spade // Midi Ring, Forever 21 // Pom Pom Flower, Shop Bando ( I seriously want one in every color!!) // Lips, Mac 'Lickable'

Happy Valentine's Day!! I hope your day is filled with lots of love, flowers, and candy!! If I'm honest, this is the probably the first year that I am super into Valentine's day. I have been trying to sneak pops of pink, red, and hearts in all my outfits the past couple weeks! I think I have fallen in love with the holiday because it's a great time to appreciate, not just your significant other, but all your loved ones!

This past weekend I hosted a tea party for my cousins and adorable Grandma. It was the perfect afternoon. We spent the day sipping tea, indulging in sweet treats, and of course lots & lots of girl talk. No matter how old we get, whenever we get together, it's like we're little girls again! I love it :)

When I was planning the party, the one thing I was stressing about was my outfit. I had this vision in my mind of what I wanted, but I couldn't find it anywhere! One would think it wouldn't be that hard to find a pink dress a week before Valentine's Day! The night before the party I was running errands, in downtown La Mesa, Ca, when I randomly stopped in Fashion Exchange. Fashion Exchange is a consignment store that carriers new and vintage items. I can't tell you how many times I have walked past there without stopping in. Boy was I missing out! Immediately, I locked eyes on a this pink dress behind the register. They had just got it in, it still had the tags on it, and it was in my size! If that's not fate, I don't know what is! I knew before I even tried it on that it was going home with me. It was perfect and exactly what I was looking for. The original tag was on there and it was marked $119. Since they had just got it in, I was nervous to hear what the owner was going to price it at. When she asked me if I was willing to buy it for $21.99, I almost screamed!! I felt like I had hit the retail jackpot. Moral of the story, if you live in San Diego you have to go by Fashion Exchange and take a look around!!

.Cropped Faux Fur.

Faux Fur, Brickyard Buffalo // Blouse, JC Penny // Pants, I Heart Ronson (sold out) Similar // Flats, Tory Burch // Necklace, Purle Peridot // Bracelets, Charming Charlie, Forever 21 (old) Similar & Jcrew // Watch, Kate Spade // Sunnies, Ray-Ban

Obsessed. That's the only word that comes to mind when I'm trying to describe my new faux fur vest from Brickyard Buffalo. If you're faux fur vest obsessed like me, you know how hard it is to actually get your hands on one these days! They're in such high demand that they sell out in hours when stores actually put them out. It's kind of like the beanie baby craze that swept the nation in the 90's....ok maybe that's a little dramatic :) Truthfully, I wasn't sure if I was actually going to like this one because it was cropped and normally that's not my thing. I think that might be slowly changing because I am head over heels in love with this beauty. It looks great with everything, trust me I practically styled it with everything in my closet when it came in!! But after hours of playing dress up, this was my favorite look. Truly, I cannot get enough. The fur with the polka dot pants, I mean, I just can't handle the perfection!

Create 11 of your own questions for them to answer
Notify your nominees

1. Why did you start blogging?
My day job is accounting. While it’s a great job it can be slightly boring at times (most of the time, lol) I’ve always loved fashion, putting together outfits and sharing great deals, so I figured why not share it with everyone through blogging.

2. What is the first thing you do when you wake up?
I can’t stress how much I am not a morning person. Actually, Tyler referrers to me as Cruela, as in Cruela Devil when I wake up in the morning :) So, the first thing I do is stumble out of bed, throw on my pink polka dot robe and start the coffee!!

3. Who is your blogging “idol”?
Wow, I have about five blogs that I check every morning! I actually get very excited to see what they post & all the adorable things they put together. I would have to say that Caitlin @ Southern Curls & Pearls and Emily from The Sweetest Thing are probably my favorite. I mean, how can you not love them?!

4. Color you tend to wear the most?
Hands down it would have to be black! Over the last year, I have tried to make an effort to incorporate more color and I think I’ve done a pretty good job! Oh and does Polka dots count as a color?? Haha :)

5.  Favorite nail polish color?
I have so many! If I had to pick my top three it would have to be: OPI 'Lincoln Park After Dark', Essie 'Mod Squad" and Essie 'Splash of Grenadine'....but honestly there's so many more that I would love to mention, but I won't bore you!

6. Facebook or Instagram?
For me this one was a no brainer! Instagram takes the win! I’m pretty obsessed with it. I love seeing everyone’s beautiful pictures, especially when they are fashion related!

7. What is your favorite piece of jewelry?
Well, if the last one was the easiest questions, this is by far the hardest question! How in the world can I pick just one piece? I love them all, but if I had to pick just one, it would have to be this dainty crown necklace by dogeared that stands for “mom”. I wear it because it symbolizes my mom & she’s my best friend, my rock, and honestly I don’t know where I’d be without her! I bet you were thinking I would pick something J.crew, huh??

8. Complete the sentence, "If I were given the choice to choose one piece of clothing, accessory, or pair of shoes without having to foot the bill I would choose _______"
A Chanel purse! The black quilted one is so classic and timeless!

9. One thing that may surprise your readers?
I think something that may surprise my readers is how much I love all things Disney! Maybe love isn’t the word I should use to describe it, I should say OBSESSED! I have had a Disneyland park pass since 2007 and believe me I put that thing to good use! There was a time, before I had a full time job, that we would go weekly! It was amazing! Just writing this makes me wish I was on Pirates of the Caribbean with Mickey shaped pretzel in my hand!

10.Beer or Wine?
Oh gosh, Wine all day, everyday!! Red or white, I love it all. Except sweet…."ain’t nobody got time for that!!”

11. How would you describe your style?
I would have to say Classic with a twist!

Here's who I am nominating!

1.
Polka Dots and Sailor Stripes
2. Kaylee-Daily
3. Ashton Wears Things
4. Envision Pretty
5. Love you. Mean It
6. Styled Snap Shots
7. For the Love of Fancy
8. Mommys Fabulous Fairytale
9. Mason Like the Jar

I love all these blogs and think they deserve a million followers! I can't wait to hear your answers girls :)

1. Why did you decided to start your blog?

.Camo Print.

Dress, Express (Sold Out) Similar // Jacket, Forever 21 // Tights, Madewell (old) Similar // Booties, Target // Belt, Zara //Necklace, Jcrew (old) // Bracelet, Vintage // Sunnies, Anthropologie  // Lips, Revlon 'Prim Rose'

Oddly enough I have never really been into camo print. Don't get me wrong, I love it on other people and I'm really love how everyone's been mixing it with other patterns! I just have never thought of myself as someone who could pull it off. If I had to describe my style I would say girly and camo just never fell into that category for me. That was until I came across this camo print button up! It's a little heavier than your average button up but still thin enough that you can layer it without it looking totally bulky! I knew instantly that I wanted to pair it with something extremely girly to balance it out. What's more girly that polka dot tights and a bouncy dress?! I am really bummed this dress is completely sold out online but I would stop in your local Express because this dress is a must and should be in everyone's closet!! It's the most flattering and comfortable little black dress I have ever worn!

XOXO, Kayla

P.S. I ended up extending the giveaway a little bit so the winner will be announced later this week....stay tuned!! :)
